How to do money balance for starcraft

ok this is wat i did ...im making an rpg man and i decided to make a store...which contains potions and such. i made the thing where u can buy it.. anyways i decided for every potion i buy it cost 50 minerals. and in the starting of a game i made it to set to 300. so i tested if it worked or not and of course it didnt. after i bought 6 potions and my money was 0 it still continuied to let me get potions wat did i do wrong??
