Installation Problems

When i install Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, during the installation of War3.mpq, it keeps saying i have a cyclic redundancy check error, any solutions?

Have you been able to install the game successfully with that disc before?

Is your disc dirty or damaged in some way?

Can you try using a different disc or installing the game with that disc on another computer so you can confirm or deny that the disc is the problem?

Does the install always fail at the same exact point during installation?

A cyclic redunancy check (CRC) is a method of checking to see that data transferred from one medium to another is intact when it gets to its destination; most likely the problem is with the disc itself. Try copying the contents of the disc to your hard drive and then run install.exe to install the game from there.

Yes i have installled the game successfully in the past, a few times already. I tried this on a different computer as well and still the same problem.
The disc is very clean and has no scratches, so its not damaged, and yes it always gial at the same point during installation.

If the problem occurs on another computer, it seems to me like the problem is with the disc, even though you claim that it's fine. Please try using a different disc if you can.

Did you try copying the contents of the disc to your hard drive and then installing from there?

Yes i did copy all the contents onto my hard drive, and its still the same problem.

I see... I still think that your disc is the problem. If you use another disc and determine that your disc is the problem, replacement info is here:

Another thing you could try is cleaning your CD-ROM drive lens with a lens cleaner like this one:

Also, check to make sure that your drive's data cable is securely connected at both ends.
