Built-in Wireless lan

Ok, so my dad recently bought this Vaio laptop with a built-in wireless-g card, and wanted to use it so we bought an access point. We had been running it for 3 weeks when suddenly the wireless card stopped seeing any wireless network.
Now, we have a wireless network and so do our neighbors, so the laptop was picking up 2 wireless lans. It's now seeing none. The first thing I did was roll back the drivers. This did nothing. I then set the drivers back to the way they were. Next I downloaded the newest drivers from teh Vaio support site. Still nothing. I also tried reconfiguring the access point to no avail. I tried resetting it. I tried unlugging it and plugging it back in. I tried a different ethernet cable going into the back. It has nothing to do with the distance between the two because the are about four feet apart right now. (access point and laptop)
I am completely stumped, and certainly don't want to have to send the laptop back to the factory to have it worked on, as my dad needs it for work.
Thanks, because I know you guys will have a solution, you always do!

well, it seems unlikely to be software. which leaves the access point or the card.

I'm pretty sure it's not the access point, because my neighbors wireless lan is still working fine, and can still see both my network and hers. Pretty much narrowed it down...

you can give a repair installation a whirl, but i wouldnt be optimistic.

Yeah, I did that...I guess it's time to send it to the factory and be laptopless for the next 3 months or so...ugh. stupid warrentee, I'd fix it myself if it weren't for that darn piece of paper.
