BF 1942 problems

Hi I recently reinstalled Bf1942 , It worked fine in single player Then I installed the latest patch for it as well as the desert combat Mod Now when it loads up My screen blanks out and a warning comes up, It says Frequency is out of range and that I must adjust frequency timing. Now I have no clue what that means. All I know is that I use to play this game fine on the same cpu and monitor a few months or so ago and this new patch had done something to mess that up. Also I also Play battlefield Vietnam and have no problems running that. Pllz help
