Microsoft Word 2003

Hi, I am running a Win 98 system with 192mb RAM, 20 gig WD HDD. My question is this. My fiance's mom has an HP a400n running Win XP. I burned a copy of the Microsoft Office 2003 folder to install Word on my computer at home. When I try to install any of the programs it tells me my system isn't configured for this application. Is because Win 98 won't recognize Office 2003 or what? Thanks in advance for any help (or tips on where i can get Word for free).

well, a) you are engaged in piracy; and b) that file was configured for xp

wordpad is a perfectly good basic word-processing application that came free with your 98. there are many other free word processing applications. Office 2003 is not free.

Ok, when I reformatted and reinstalled Win98 SE I didn't get get any office or word products. I will have to check that disk and see if they are on it. Oh and NO I am not a Pirateer! I just steal from my family.
Just kidding!! LOL. Hey thanks for the replies.
