Pop up ad within window

Does anyone know how to remove permanetly ads that enter your window, e.g like classmates.com appearing at the top n downloads onto your working internet explr window with the site your looking at a scroll below? its the most annoying pop up ive had in a while! arghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you using a free ISP connection, it is free because of the advertising.
There are also programs available that will remove adverts and pop ups, like Firewalls. Best would be contacting your ISP for their advice how to filter incoming traffic because just blocking traffic can block you fron the Internet too.

you mean popups, banner ads, or java ads? the first you can block, the second youre stuck with. the third you can either live with or turn off all java (not recommended).

you can use your host file (in windows/ system 32/ drivers/ etc/ ) to block any specific domain. just add a line like

127.0.0.1 www.classmates.com
