Holy crap! nintendorks.
I remember reading that years ago... back when the n64 was launched.
And no, I'm certainly not a fan of nickleback. Anyone else see the video of them plaing a vestvial gig in Portugal?
People in the crowd were throwing handfulls of rocks at them, so in the middle of the second song, the singer stopped the show to ask if there were any nickleback fans in portugal. Of course, he was just pelted with more rocks and as he was walking away to get off the stage, he got nailed in the back of the head with a nice big rock.
Funny

man that is dumb. i hate it when ppl throw crap at the bands, regardless of how they like them, it is one of the rudest things anyone can do. it just shows how much of an as*hole you really are when you throw things. i mean ppl get up there on stage in front of other people and try to entertain, the least you can do is cheer em on even if you dont like em, because if you were up there on that stage, and you got rocks thrown at you, it would probably shatter some confidence in yourself, and you never know you could end up killing yourself. so no i dont think it is funny at all. i also like this group and have never once "boo"d or thrown rocks or anything at a bad band

They're certainly far from being essentially good, but I'd rather listen to them than 2/3 of the craptastic music out there that's put out by wannabe thug rappers.

I don't like nickleback anymore than you, but that wasn't funny at all. ****ing haters.

The funniest part is when the big rock smacked him in the back of the head and the drummer gave everyone the finger.
"ARE THERE ANY NICKLEBACK FANS IN PORTUGAL!?"
not at that show buddy

Not a fan but I would have walked off to. They were being asses.
Tool vowed never to come to Boise again because some dipshit threw a shoe at the lead singer back in 97. They finally came back a couple years ago after they built a new stadium that wasn't in the Boise metro area.

I remember a long time ago MTV showed a Bush concert, and someone through a mustard and bologona sandwhich at one of the guitarists. Gavin stops singing and goes "whoa whoa, stop. Someone threw a mustard and bologona sandwich?? What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

I find it ironic that the people throwing rocks bought the tickets.
Posted by: Bix VT
Maybe they hated the band so much they would pay to throw rocks at them...

Join the club. LP is the greatest band ever. (IMO) I was just saying that I have heard people say that all of thier songs sound the same...but I disagree. How can you even compare My December, Crawling and Nobody's Listening?

Heres a linkin park one. Although it matches up slightly, thats not enough for them to be another Nickelback.

Yes, some Linkin Park songs sound very...similar. Doesn't matter though, they have so many awesome songs...

Yeah hi, nice to meet you . Not very big on Rock until i heard Linkin Park's "In the End." Frankly i like both Nickleback and LP equally, all rock music is the same; talking about how dark they are feeling and how they are about to go off the edge, one rock band sounds the same as another (except they use different melodies and harmonies).

Hmmm, for some reason I actually like "Someday", and when "How You Remind Me" came out, I was okay with that one too - though not as much as "Someday".
Not too big a fan of Linkin Park, however - I think their songs sound a lot more like each other than Nickelbacks' do.
I'll be sure to check out the clip(s) when I get home, though.

Slightly off the topic: has anyone ever listened to Ashanti's "Unfoolish"? When I first heard the song, I thought they had done a remake of "One More Chance" (a really, *really* old song... ~'92 I think - by Notorious BIG, or something?). Awhile ago I finally managed to get my hands on both of the songs and listen to them side by side - and, as I expected, the background music was almost identical.

There's so many subgenres of rock that it's almost impossible to lump them together in a statement and not make the speaker look ignorant.

LOOKS LIKE A PRETTY HARD PUZZLE TO SOLVE IF YOU ASK ME
Posted by: uh...ok
Just listened to the MP3 - pretty cool stuff.
Afterwards I was curious enough to load up the two separate songs - and noticed that the time on "Someday" is 3:27 while the time on "How You Remind Me" is 3:47. And neither of my versions have any silence at the beginning or the end of the song. So where did those 20 seconds go? Pretty good mp3 editing to me.
Another rather big difference to me is that in "Someday" the pitch (or is it tone? or just whatever the starting note is when he starts singing) is different in the edited version from the normal version.
Of course this doesn't detract from the point the author sought to make, but it's nice to be reminded to never take anything (especially since it's from SA) at face value.

Just to clarify, LP is my favorite band because of personal reasons not because of playing ability, lyrics, or whatever else you use to rate a band. Still, besides my personal reasons, their playing ability/lyrics/whatever else you use to rate a band are pretty high from my perspective. Anyway, I'm not going to be a dumbass and be like, ' Whoo yay LP for life. '
Btw Bunmiadefisayo, you either haven't listened to enough rock or just don't want to or are ignorant to the fact that all bands don't talk about darkness and going over the edge with different harmonies and melodies. I.E. Linkin Park isn't a ' Rock ' band. If you educate yourself about them you'll come to find out that it's hard to categorize them at all.
