I was thinking about buying this game for the single player mode. I'm not big on the "pay to play" plan.  At least...not for more than a one time fee.

I didnt like the game at all. I found it to be just crap. Every crap aspect of every MMO Ive played is mashed into it.
I like COH a lot better. Although I probably wont play it too long, all you can really do is just kill stuff. If they added duels, it would be a big change.

I'm considering getting it. Have a friend I play MMOs with, he wants me to get it. However, I just splurged on a drum set, on top of my other bills I don't know if I'd want to spend $15/month on a MMO right now.

theres no single player to the game, but ive been curious to play player vs player game with good graphics.
i really think the whole leveling aspect of these games sucks ass. kill 40 enemies in a row, is boring as shit and a waste of time. so im going to be lazy and just buy some ingame money off of ebay or something.

I've got two characters, a level 10 orc fighter, I usually only play him with a friend (so we have characters that are the same level) - Anaense
And a level 9 dark elf mystic, that I just started a few days ago (mystics level ****in' quick, at level 1 the first spell does 100 damage so you fly through the first five levels) I made her to play when my buddy ain't on. - Petra
Anyhow, if you've got a character on Erica, give me a shout sometime.
Though, travel is a bitch and a half, or very expensive for my level.

i stowaway on the boat constantly. but im starting to hate the game. im only as good as the amount of time i spend. no measure of actual skill, just how long you can wait. they changed the game since beta. being a dwarf is hard now, you rarely get items to make stuff cause the dropped the ratio. the whole game now has mobs grouped so you can kite them. dwarves cant kite.
the only character iv lvld is the dwarf, does you clan need a dwarf? i already know all the dwarf stuff, and am handy with pricing knowlege and good deals

but ive been playing it and im starting to think it sucks also. though dwarves are so hard to lvl with compared to a kiting mystic. they really ****ed up the overall game balance for early lvl dwarves since beta. what took me a week to acomplish with a dwarf i did with a de in one night.

Kiting sucks. I don't have any problems leveling my fighter. Granted, I'm no midget.
But the game rocks. Have you killed another player yet?
Go kill a player, it will make the game more fun.
Especially if they start talking shit about their level thirty-whatever destroyer/knight blah blah blah.

whenever i get attacked by a player i buffer the shit out of them, they never expect that, and they leave me alone real quick. and several times it has turned into where i buffer the pker repeatedly and kills a bunch of people. and i make the victims pay me to stop buffering him.
when i wanna **** someone over, instead of pking them, i heal the enemy they are attacking repeatedly.

Played the beta on this and the first sight i was greeted with was a big field full of nature loving elves beating the crap out of some unsuspecting dogs.I was amused but I wouldn't pay to play this.
I play SWG and find that a lot more enjoyable.
And what's up with the dark elves running, have the got spinal problems?

Seems like they have a rather large problem with people running bots to farm cash to sell on ebay. Several posts seem to suggest that the bots are actually crowding out real players in some areas.

Todays patch took care of all the bots and dupes. The database was completely wiped of dupes and accounts that ever used a bot or duped were permanently banned and their characters were deleted.
Its quite funny actually cuz if you read their boards now, theres all kinds of people who are pissed about it. Tons of "I wasnt duping!" posts and then they get banned off the forums. A friend of mine plays L2 and several people he plays with got banned, and now their telling him that a big group of the players that got banned are gonna start a class action lawsuit. Dumbasses.

i cancelled my account.
what is a dupe in the sense of this game? what methodology did they use to identify bots?
is there a list of accounts that were botting?

Bleh, I started downloading the client before I went out this morning, come back to it fully downloaded and...If you reside in the United States you can't purchase the cd key online. It's for "international" people as a last resort, come to find out.
Anyway, after checking some local retailers and coming up with nothing, and reading the forums and getting a bad impression..I don't think it's worth bothering with at the moment. Maybe in a few months.

Im not one of the devs, but its probably similar to all other MMO games that use a database and logs. Everything a character does is logged and information about items and stats are written to the database. If something keeps happening over and over the same way everytime, it would be obvious that its a bot. Especially if a GM messaged them and didnt get a response. To identify duping, they probably use id #'s. Each item has its own unique ID #. So if someone is carrying 1 of something, then 2 seconds later they suddenly have 2 of them with the same ID number, obviously its a dupe.
I havent seen a list, but Ive heard its over 40% of the current subscribers. And not too long ago they had over 100,000 subscribers.

Chaotic, the problem wasn't that huge, even before the patch.
You could crash the bots by trading or inviting them. Also you could just turn around and kill them. They don't fight back.
Also, **** anyone who got banned. They can say they weren't cheating all they want. Why believe them? Many people cheat at games and will deny deny deny.
In anycase, Chaotic. You should give it a shot. It's fun. I've been meaning to get ahold of you to try and sell you on it, actually.
That is, if you're done playing EQ or DAoC or whichever one you picked up again.

Lineage 2 is a cool game, if you can get your hands on it, do it! Im not playing it, tho i did in closed and open beta.
The castle siege is a cool idea, too bad my computer cant hold up for a long time all that nice graphic and spammin people

Well, it didn't last as long as I'd hoped.
My friend canceled his account.
Chronicle 1 rolls out within a week.
He has until around the 15th of July before his account is closed.
It's my last chance to get him back into it.

I seriously would if it was any other time but right now. I'm not playing any subscription based game now, real life situations and shortening time with a friend have mandated I cut back.
If your still dedicated in a few weeks to a month, maybe. I'd really like to play, seems like I'm always the last to jump on these things at which point you're all gone

Lineage 2 is a is just a MMORPG with PVP. All I have been doing since i got the game is treadmilling. The quests are pointless. One quest gave me two potions that hasten my player's attack speed. No money, no experience, just some stupid potions. Equpiment that is anygood ranges from 200k to 4 million gold and when mods drop around 180 gold, you can see that to make any real progress is going to take 100s of hours of boring farming. I reached level 20 and became a wizard and now i dont have the patience to level to 27 to get my next set of skill upgrades. I think I will cancel my account soon.
The game does have good graphics and the settings are nicely done but there is just no personality to the game.
I can't wait until World of Warcraft coming out, the only reason I got Lineage 2 was to kept me occupied until it came out. O well
