What's the name of that nes game...

This is gonna be the vaguest description of a game ever, but I want to play it again so I'm hoping someone knows what I'm talking about.
The game I'm talking about is for the nes. You're a wizard or something, and you're walking around in a dungeon. You view the character in top down view. I'm pretty sure each room of the dungeon takes up one screen. I guess it was kinda like a maze or something, cause I remember being stuck somewhere and I didn't know where to go.
Last time I played it was more than 10 years ago, on a friend's nes, and I only played it once, so that's why the details are lacking a bit.

It's not Gauntlet. It looked way better than that too. I saw something about Gauntlet 2 and 3 when I was googling for it though. Maybe it's one of those.

Edit: It's not Gauntlet 2 either, and I'm pretty sure that Gauntlet 3 for the nes doesn't really exist.

Astynax isnt top down, its a side scroller. And that was on Genesis, wasnt it?

Heh, after reading the beginning of this thread, I went to a NES roms site, checked out the 'a' section, as I thought the game began with that, and picked out any ROMS with a name that MAY have sounded familair.
Ha, guess I was way off.
