From a report in the Idaho Statesman.
As of this posting, the article regarding the museum is the second news posting on the page titled Boise to be Video Game Capital.
Interesting.

I have nothing to do with this one, but I welcome it with open arms.
The funny thing is we actually have five local game shops that do nothing but new/used consoles. Whenever I am looking for something I pretty much do the loop around town and one of them always has whatever it may be.

San Francisco would be a better place for it.
What would be nice is if they had big plaques with high scores for different games, and ANYONE could get their name on the list, if they proved their score.

They mention one place there in the article that used to have a big retro section. Pojo's used to be a dedicated nickel palace where every game was .5 or .10 to play. They just had a small section of newer games. They moved into a new building a few years ago, and their retro section shrunk considerably. About the only tournaments they host now is for DDR.
Not sure why they exactly pushed for Boise as the location, but if it does happen I will definately check it out.

No; you already get all the good stuff. You can just cross the river and hit New York if it's not there.
All we have in Idaho is potatos, cows, HP/Compaq, and Cruicial Technology (Micron).

You people are KILLING me. The gaming of the capital is South Korea and NO me being Korean doesn't affect that. Because it's not opinion, it is FACT!
If anything [ In the U.S. ] San Francisco would be it because of the coming WCG and all the accomodations built for the hundreds of pro gamers coming to bless American soil. If you don't know what WCG is you shouldn't even post in this topic.
Now I might have this whole topic wrong but to me ' Gaming ' includes PC gaming, Console gaming, etc, all kinds. Korea doesn't have as many console games because it was once a colony of Japan and the use of console systems were ' banned ' if you will by old generation Koreans.
If you don't believe me, read this article in order to BEGIN to taste what true gaming capital of the world is.
