I have no idea why, but just recently photoshop decided it wanted to bug me. When ever I try to "save for web" anything, I get this error: "Could not complete this operation because an assertion has failed". I've never seen this error before and dudnno what has caused it, I've re-installed photoshop twice and it still give me that error. Thx

Are you trying to save an image using the 'saveoptimized' command. If so, it only works in RGB. You would see this type of error message if you are using CMYK.
You can convert to RGB by using the 'convertprofile' command, then you would be able to use the 'saveoptimized' command.
If you do not have to optimize the image(s) for the internet, then you can use the 'savecontent' command which can be used to save graphics in PSD or TIFF formats and can be either RGB or CMYK.
This is assuming that any image you are trying to save is not corrupted in any way.
Hope this helps.
