video card

hello i have just got the game "Star wars Knight of the old republic". A few months aga i got a new video card a nvidia geforce fx 5200 and when i play my new game my screen goes in to stand buy and goes blank. I push the mouse and i push ctrl alt delete and it does nothing so i have to shute computer of by holding power button down and then play again and in littal while does again.
Could it be virus or what is happening i would like the help thatnk you

Recommend to visit the manufacturer's homepage for that nvidia geforce fx 5200, you might need updating the driver for the card.
Check also that the specs of the card matches your PC specs, i.e some 'chipsets' can cause problems if the specs do not match with the device installed.
Always good to run all the possible tools, like defrag, System Mechanic, registry cleaner and AntiVirus Program before installing any new devices, so that the 'platform' is clean and that the system runs well.
Check also is the DirectX the right one for the game, normally the higher the better.
