ICS For Dial Up Connection Through Router
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me on this.
I have two computers running XPSP1 Pro.
My machine has a modem which connects to my Dial Up Internet service. It is connected to my router through a regular NIC. My machines IP address is 168.192.0.1. I have ICS enabled on my dialup connection.
My Router's IP Address is 168.192.0.2.
Now, I am trying to get my sisters computer to browse the internet. Her computer is able to successfully browse my shared files, and connect/disconnect my dial up connection. However she is not able to browse the internet.
Someone please help.
Thanks

Hope this will help
This is just an excample.
On the Master, make sure that Internet Sharing is installed, on the properties setting of the TCP/IP - Kingston XXX Ethernet Card the properties of the TCP.IP are;
IP Address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
WINS: Disabled
Gateway: Empty
DNS: Disabled
Bindings: Both selected
On the Client (your Sisters PC), the properties of the TCP/IP - Ethernet are;
IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS: As given by the Internet Service Provider, without these no connection.
And in the end configure the setting of the Client IE (Internet Explorer).

The IP You suggest I change my sisters computer to is that of the Router. Her default gateway is that of the router.
Is there a way to specify to use my computer as the gateway to the internet, going through the router? I think that is where I am having the trouble.
I have not changed the DNS IP on my sisters machine, so I will try that.

Check also the manufacturer's homepage, especially the FAQ and how to set the specified router.
Google search 'how to setup internet router abcdefg(make of your router) you will find quite few instruction pages.
Not knowing what router you have, but visit the following homeages for some advice www.nextgenelectronies.com/asante1104.shtml or www.nat32.com/ntrouter.htm
