A story on Yahoo! covers the new trend in commercial branding and advertisements. Make your own gamesite for users.
YaYa is a growing business that creates games for big brand companies. The companies usually run the games off to the side of their main web site. It's less intrusive and reduces the number of banner and pop-up ads.
There may not be any research to verify this method of advertising makes people buy the products, but we like the idea that people are given the option on whether they want to play or not.

I particularly liked the game "Ford Escape". Is it just me or was that an aptly named title. Considering all the debacles that company has with massive recalls for solenoids that cause your vehicle to stall, causing some deaths (it would have cost them $4 to change that per vehicle...but I guess ford does not care for their customers). The ford Pinto..another cheap part that could have been changed with no loss of life. The firestone tires fiasco (funny how most if not all vehicles affected are Fords). And the worst part of all this, the corporation that is Ford knew of all these problems before they hit the public. I kinda like "Ford Escape". It is a good title for that company.
Point of all this...that could be considered bad advertising.
