Any Simpsons fans out there?

My roommate and I are on this huge simpsons recording/buying kick, we want all of them but if course they haven't even released the fourth season yet. So, we took it upon ourselves to get all the ones that we could we now have 296 of the 330some episodes, by means of downloading, (is that legal for shows?) recording by way of TV tuner and ripping from the three seasons that we already have. Has anyone got a collection similar to this? Sorry to mods if this is inapporopriate please close as needed.

Lol, you go! Simpsons rule man! Not sure about the downloading thing though...but I'm pretty sure it's legel to get it off of tv as long as you only use it for yourself.

Recording them yourself is legal. Downloading or sharing them is illegal. Its really stupid though since its shown on a TV station that is free and they have already made all the money they can off the show with the commercials(unless of course you are downloading dvd rips of a full season)
I myself dont download music, but I do download TV shows(not dvd rips) that I cant get here because the station is not offered here(that will be fixed soon though as Im getting dish). The biggest example of that is Comedy Central. AT&T and now comcast have REFUSED to bring comedy central to this area. I know for a fact that they have had thousands of requests for it. I downloaded every episode of chappelles show this season and last season. Then I bought the DVD of season 1, and I will do the same for season 2. Meanwhile UPN, ABC and NBC are sending out emails to ISPs about downloading episodes of their shows is illegal. So far only cable ISPs have not laughed at them and have cited those who have downloaded.

I have purchased all the ones to date so I have not dowloaded any rips. I also do not share at all, I like to have them on my computer because they are about all I watch on cable so won't get it when I'm off campus next year because I will never pay for cable. Plus I HATE commercials which I edit out of course. Thanks for the info on cable dls though that's comforting.

The simpsons arent on cable though. Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, UPN and WB are all receiveable through a regular TV antenna. So you dont have to pay for them, just get a good antenna.

Yeah, The Simpsons are on Fox, which is a regular network...you can get them with an antenna, but the quality will be low...one has to make certain tradeoffs when things are free I suppose...

Actually, if you get a good antenna, the quality is about the same as cable. Theres a kind that you can plug into an outlet and it will use the wiring of your house to act as a antenna, Ive heard those work really good.

Don't flame me here, but I honestly am not a huge fan of the Simpsons. I don't really find what's so special about them when i watch it.
I'm a Family Guy fan myself.

@ SKYHN: really? Any time I've used an antenna it's always been fuzzy...but then I live a bit further away from major cities than I'd like...

I've only seen it on my brothers DVD collection. However, it used to be on Fox, and I think you can still see it on Cartoon Network later at night.
Other than that, I really say. Buy the DVD's...they're worth it.

Oh, back on topic, has anyone here seen the Simpsons episode where Bart pisses off Austrailia and the sompsons have to go down there to apologize...and the marine punches homer for being an idiot...lol good episode that...

I like the Tomacco episode. Especially the part where homer is in the radiation suit and hes taking out the radio active goop with those tongs being very careful, then he dips his finger in it and takes a taste. The gloveslap thing was funny too.

i have every stargate sg1 episode, dl'n episodes is illegal(dude on a sg1 forum got busted)
also about simpsons, witch episode is the one where homer thinks hes a god or something(in africa?) and has a bunch of black tribesmen building some kind of shrine for him? AND he licks a frog and his eyes get real big? the last part is the most important, the rest might be a little off but i need to find the episode where he pulls a frog out of his pocket licks it, eyes get real big then he puts the frog back in his pocket

Bix, your thinking of season 6, episode 16- Bart vs. Australia. Theemon, that one is season 11 episode 15, missionary impossible. I have both of caurse, RacasteClarke, if you don't like them that's up to you and we'd be ignorent to flame you for something as dumb as that, however there are some like me who think that the Simpsons ROCKS! It is the longest running cartoon series with more episodes than anything else on TV, what's more there is no foreseeible end in sight right now. I guess its possible to get similar quality on antenna, however I suppose I just enjoy having every episode at my disposal, I often miss the episodes on TV, (my tuner card software needs to fixed or something, I always get errors when I try to set a record time).
Also we don't have cartoon network at school the entire campus is outraged!

Yeah theemon, that's the episode where all of PBS is after him...I love the part where the telletubbies are shooting lasers from thier heads at him...and when Mr. Rogers says "It's a beautiful day...to kick your a**"
