Excel File Back Up

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I need to back up a MS Excel 2002 file while the file is open. Is this task possible? I need to back it up several times every day. I'd like to put it on auto pilot and just schedule several back up jobs.

Thanks

Don't know if you have it on Excel 2002, but on 2003, you can go to Tools/Options/Save/SaveOptionAutoRecover, then specify the number of minutes. This is not recommended as a replacement for actually saving your work.

Yeah 2002 has that but we need a back up file.

The reason that file back up would work best is that we need be able to access the spread sheet as it was 1 hour ago or 2 hours ago or yesterday. The MS Backup program can easily be set to do this but it will only work if the file is closed. If any user has the spread sheet open the back up job will skip that file. And this file is always in use.
