Problems during game play

i have been playing cs now for about 3 years and normally my computer runs fine on it. my computer isnt the lastest but it gets the job done.
but since yesterday whenever i play now the game will lag very bad. i have cable and i used to almost never have problems. but now when i play it will skip about ever 1-2 seconds and whatever i was doing before it starts to lag like shoot or walk it continues to do it for an extra second even if i take my hands off the controls. i recently had problems with a rundll thing. im not too sure about tech stuff so i do not know how to explain. also i had a problem with another dll which i believe had the word bridge in it. i am not getting that error now for some reason but i did quarrentine some things. however i have no idea what since there were about 300 things that were either infected or something was wrong with them. even though i am not getting this error message anymore the game still runs like crap and cs is about the only game i play anymore and i play it for a while everyday.
i would just like to figure out what the problem is so i can be fixed and i can continue to enjoy the game. any help would be appreciated.
just remember i am not very fluent with computer talk so be specific on what i should do... thanks
