Can't connect to sites

I connect to the www and have my default page set to msn.com. I get the page being displayed and then no matter where I select to go from here, I get " can't connect to server message ". I try going to google, yahoo etc and still get " can't connect to server. I then " go back " to msn.com and I get
same message. I then disconnect and redial and get
same thing all over again. I only get my initial home page. I changed my home page to something else and same thing happens. I get my new home default page but get " can't get to server " or " go back " when I try to go anywhere else. How can I resolve?

Try a repair of IE through add/remove programs, highlight M$IE in add/remove>click remove>choose repair.
Do this after ending tasks of everything except explorer and systray and after dumping TIFs and emptying the Temp folder's contents.
