Windows ME Color Problems

Hi, everybody. I hope you all can help me. My (quite old) computer is running on Windows ME, and recently, I discovered that it was infected with at least 10 minor viruses. A friend of mine decided to mess with all of the settings in an attempt to rid my pc of the viruses, and somehow changed my color from 138 to 16. I've tried simply altering my display options, but the only choices available are either two color or sixteen. I have even tried to use system restore, but something went haywire with that as well and no dates are available besides the one where my colors changed. Much as I hate to admit it, I'm not really good with computers and I'm sure as hell not letting my friend near mine again. Can you help me? If any other info is needed, just let me know. Thanks.

Sounds like your video card drivers got corrupted... reinstall them or update them if a newer version is available. What kind of video card do you have in your computer?
