sound card problems

i have just installed a soundblaster audigy 2 zs sound card and it seems to work fine when tested but when i play games after a couple of mins a countinous sound will start like a constant beep and my system hangs! its happened everytime now (about six times), any ideas? is it the card, the drivers or power problems any help is much appreciated as im a bit of a bone head when dealing with this stuff.

Check if the games have separate audio ajustment, like Hidden and Dangerous II and other similar games have adjustments for video and audio. Check also that the game is recognising your sound card correctly. Long time agao I had problem with Delta Force that didn't recognise my 3D card, that was weird, I had to reinstall ATI drivers and the game.
At the present time H&D II sometimes starts feedback loop (squeeck), and I have no idea why, because it goes away when I shoot couple of rounds, weird...

I've tried that but no luck this time.
it seems to be when eax gets involved even on the showcase cd that came with the card it craps out after a couple of seconds. i've reinstalled the card updated drivers but to no avail thanks for the help anyway.
