Numlock disabled by default.

I'm wondering if there's a way to enable Numlock by default?

The BIOS setting doesn't work, do you know if there is a Windows XP setting somewhere?

Run regedit (to open the registry)

Goto -> HKCU\Control Panel\Keyboard

There should be a string value called InitialKeyboardIndicators

Change this value to one of the following numbers, according to your startup preferences:

0 - All Locks off
1 - Caps Lock on
2 - Num Lock on
4 - Scroll Lock on

So in your case, set it -> 1.

You may need to logoff & back on again for new settings to apply.

If this fails, try rebooting, entering BIOS and disabling 'boot-up numlock' option.

Otherwise, there's a simpler solution: upon entering windows, press the 'numlock' key - this method ALWAYS works, and it's very, very easy to use believe me

No problem m8

Here's a deal: see if my advice works...

...and if it does, you can find me one of those "ice-hot" icelandic models & arrange for a date http://forum.presence-pc.com/images/hotb.gif

It works fine after I log on, but I have my account password in digits and I use the numpad to type it in :|

..just go in to an icelandic bar with money and start buying girls drinks and you'll get lucky in no time.
