i seriously don't know why would you buy either of those 'cause there are so darn expensive, if you don't want to build a computer yourself, you should at least consider other brands that are less expensive but will deliver the same or the near same performance such as dell

Building your own will not only give you the best performance, but can also save you alot of money in the long run. Plus, knowing exactly what is in your system really is helpful!
I'd suggest building your own, if you don't want to. You'd still be better off buying the parts, and having a local shop build one to your exact specifications.

yeah i forgot to mention, local computer shops are a great alternative, if you know what you are doing, i've had terrible times w/ my local computer shops, probably because i was too young
back then when i was in 7th grade, i bought a computer from this egyptian guy, and i got RIPPED!!!
and then when i try to upgrade, that was my sophmore year in high school, my local computer store's asians were freaking mean to me, i think it's because i didn't wear gap and abcrombie & fitch appreals

"Building your own will not only give you the best performance"
Very wrong...You have to be very experienced and usually the GOOD pc builders give you the best performance...A local shop is just like building it yourself. That option is just for not knowing how to build a pc...

Building your own system is beneficial if you have a depth knowledge of system architecture & configuration designing. Otherwise, you should purchase a branded system which is not very expensive, good in performance, and the after sales support of the vendor is also good.

Building your own is far superior to getting a prebuilt...even if it's an alienware. You pay for the name. You could build a $4000 alienware system for $1500-$2000, and still have enough left over for a 2nd computer! That's with top-of-the-line everything as well...
Plus you know what parts are going into your pc, and you have a lot more options and flexability for upgrading...
