Possible rule for OTS...

Upon browsing the member list, I've noticed that we have TONS of members that have NO posts at all...none!
I think it may be a good idea to implement a system to get rid of these users, if they aren't going to be posting or anything.
Once a person joins, they're in. However, if they don't post ONCE in period of say...2 months or so, they should receive an e-mail saying that their account is dormant. They should then post at least once to make their account non-dormant. If, however, they continue to be idle for a period of a few months or so after being dormant, their account should be closed and deleted.
What do ya think?
Ideas, suggestions, etc, appreciated.

I'm pretty sure this already happens every once in a while.

Some might just want advice that they get by reading answers to other's problems. That should be also OK.

I didn't say this was a BAD thing, I'm just saying it can get a bit annoying to see hundereds of pagers of members who haven't posted a single thing.
You don't need an account to browse the forums, do you?
If you do, then I'll eat my shoe.
I just thought it would be a good idea to reduce the number of members who don't post.

You can tell this by comparing the user ID of the newest member to the number of members on the front page

This is already being done on a normal basis ... members who have no posts and haven't logg on for 90 days get deleted... lately I've held off on it coz I was kinda busy, but member pruning has been in effect since last year

Thanks Canis! I was wondering about that too, it will be a lot more efficient to only have active users with accounts. also, do you keep banned members up or not? I've seen a ton of them, its kinda scary.

Oh, I didn't know you already had a policy to remove memebers..
I'm sorry, this was a wasteful post -_-...
Well, I'm glad to hear that people that don't post get deleted..
Oh well.
