Which one is better??

*sigh*

ok the 6800 Ultra is a really good card that shows a lot of room for improvement in the future, esp. with updated drivers and PCI express to be released soon.

The X800 (XT?) is an excellent card that has some slightly better benchmarks on newer games esp. with AA and AF cranked up. It also has lower power/space reguirements. But, the X800 does NOT support pixel shader 3.0 which is being implemented into most/all of the latest games, also it uses last generation tech. which performs well mind you but doesn't show as much potential as the 6800.

In short, the entire hardware community is asking that same question and the results are unclear at best.

if you want more info, check the analysis sites like fireingsquad and tom's hardware.

from the what i have gathered, the 6800 ultra has a lot of improvement to be had with drivers compared with the x800

6800 is better than 9800xt.........
>And i also think they cost same, or that nvidia is cheaper...

Posted by: armystud0911

The MSRP for each is $500 and the more comparible "EXTREME" version of the 6800 will cost more than that.

LOL 9800 xt doesnt cost 500$... it is at most 400$...these are current prices!!!
I think you meant X800 XT

I have one annoying question that has been on my nerves... which NEW CARDS ARE officially out right now?!? lol

the cards currently availible are the X800 PRO, and the 6800 Ultra, but some high end companies like alianware are allowing you to customize with the X800 XT and the 6800 Ultra extreme. The GT will be released mid june.
