Anyone own a Crazy Taxi game for PC?

I found Crazy Taxi 3 for PC in a bargain bin for $5 and I bought it, since I recently got a racing wheel and have only 2 games to play with it. But the sound on it is just totally f'd up. So f'd up that its better to play with the sound off completely(which sucks). Ive checked on the net a bit and there doesnt seem to be a patch/fix for it. Sega did not do the PC version, I think Atari did.
Anyways, does anyone here own the original crazy taxi for PC? And if so, does it suffer from these same problems? Its on ebay for $10, and the first one was my favorite one so I may grab one if its not bugged like this one is.

I liked original better than the other 2. The only feature I liked in the others was that you could pick up more than 1 person at a time.
Thats one of 3 Arcade Machines Ive always wanted to own.
