Nintendo Announces online plans

This article was shown to me today by an anonymous informant 
"JAPANESE NEWSPAPER, Nihon Keizai Shinbun, said today that Nintendo will release its Gamecube compatible network modems in the beginning of 2002.
The first modem to be released will be the 56k modem, followed later by a DSL modem.
The first online game in development is the Gamecube version of Sonic Team's highly successful Phantasy Star Online; although Nintendo plan to release their own Online game as well (the new Rogue Squadron would be nice.).
Official announcements about the console's online capabilities should be announced next week at the annual Nintendo trade show, Space World."
