I'm not sure what the problem is but it has to do with my desktop pointer(arrow).Sometime the hour glass will po up now and then for no reason.I ran a virus scan and deleted the files it told me to.I even notice that in the Windows Task Manager under Process it keeps saying "system idle process".What does that mean and how can I fix this problem?

thats just the monitor that takes up the idle portion of your resources, ignore it.

the hourglass is probably appearing because some background task or xp service is doing its bit. that said, run a different virus scan in case you have something else lurking. there is one available for free at http://housecall.trendmicro.com .

you can disable various xp services, and probably other programs, if its bothersome.
