Hey, i have a huge problem with my internet. I have a Linsys BEFSR41 V3. When i play warcraft The frozen throne, i can not play any solo games or host in any games. When i change the configurations for my ports n stuff, im able to play 1 game, after that everything gets jakked up and i cant do anything. So basically i have to reconfigure everything after each game, is there any way to fix this???

I had that same router at one point, and I had the same exact problem where I could host one minute but I couldn't host the next. If a firmware update doesn't help, you'll have to get a new router or contact Linksys tech support, sorry.

I got a Netgear FR114P and I've had zero problems with it...

Firmware update is a program?

Posted by: NegotiatorSmith

Yes, it's a program. Get the latest firmware for your router here:

http://www.linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?fwid=183

Yea, i downloaded the firmware n shit, i was talkin to my friend that had the same problem and told me that it might be my DSL verizon modem. Do you think that is true?

Posted by: NegotiatorSmith

Well, if you think it's your modem, simply plug your computer directly into it and see if you still have the same problem. I think it's the router, though, as I had the EXACT same problem with it.

So, i get a new router or somthing? well i payed 60 $ for it, is there a better router for 60? or shuld i just get a replacement, and i hope it duznt lag when 2 comps game.

Posted by: NegotiatorSmith

Yes, I think you're going to have to get a new router. I recommend the Netgear FR114P; my brother and I haven't had any problems playing online at the same time.

If I get that router can u help me with set it up on Aim, or maybe get some screenies and tell me how to do it?

Posted by: NegotiatorSmith

If you get that router and you don't know how to configure it for hosting, post back and I'll tell you how to do it step-by-step. I don't give out my AIM name to people I don't know personally, sorry.

Kool, i might get it, but its kinda pricy at newegg whered u get urs?? its 70 bux at newegg.

Hey. i borrowed my friends D-link D1-614+ and now my internet finally works, do you think ill notice a speed difference or stability if i get the one u recomonded? cuz this ones only 40$ and so far it looks prety good. = ) finally got internet to work on both comps. but yea wat do u think?

Posted by: NegotiatorSmith

I doubt that you'll notice a big speed/stability difference between the two routers, and if you don't have the hosting problem with the D-Link, I'd say go for it.

Posted by: andruyu

Shit,I think i see the difference between cheap routers. My router stops working after like 6-12 hours. Then doesnt work for another 2-6. When i use internet without router, everything is fine but when i use the router the internet is lagging like hell. that doesnt do that with your router correct? i think i might go and get the netgear...

Posted by: andruyu

Is there any settings at all to change for a D-link Dss-5+?"? cant find anything..

Posted by: NegotiatorSmith

My Netgear router does not do that, and it sounds like your D-Link is defective. I don't think there are any settings you can change that will stop that problem with your D-Link.

Posted by: andruyu

Cool, im bout to return my d-link dss-5 that discs so much and my defective besfsr41v.3. = ) i didnt get the netgear yet, i was talkin bout the dss-5. i will post new thread when i get the netgear = ).

Posted by: NegotiatorSmith

I apologize, I meant to say "your D-Link is defective".
