Why does a router and a computer lose their connection? Does forcing the tcp/ip settings in my computer would help?

That's a pretty general question. Do you mean a computer loosing it's connection to a router? It could be several different reasons. It could be a physical connection problem like an unplugged cable, an uninstalled or conflicting NIC, bad port on router, etc. It could be a logically problem like a winsock error in Windows, software-based firewall preventing any communication, an individual application like Internet Explorer loosing it's socket connection at the application layer of the network.

It would be easier to help if you could be alittle more specific about what kind of situation you have.
