Which version of this game is the best to get?
My little brother has just started getting into those little characters you have to paint n stuff.

I have told him you can play online as well!! is this possible with these games? he is quite hyped at the moment...and is the game like the real thing?

Thanks again...

also any useful links would be cool../ reviews on the game also.

Version? Do you mean which army?

Just avoid Tau. Everyone ****ing hates them and for a good reason: they're new and annoying mech/anime/robots that have no place in the Warhammer universe. Choosing that army triggers two things. First, any experienced player you encounter will burst out laughing at your poor, insulting choice, as they believe the whole idea of some extremely young, highly technically advanced race that resembles the cliche of any anime mech suddenly bursts into the scene for no real reason storywise. Their power dominates every other race, which brings me to the second point - no one but other Tau players will play you.

You'll hear the same thing from longtime M:tg players in reference to the new cardsets. They're incredibly overpowered, designed to take out the decks of veterans who have perfected their style. M:tg hopes that, by doing this, the older players would start buying newer cards to compete with these newcomers on the scene.

Tau is just a moneymaker for a tabletop game that could use some revitalization, especially in the older players.

Other than that, Warhammer 40k is like Starcraft with some odd guys mixed in. You got your Terran (Space Marines), Protoss (Eldar) and the Zerg (Tyranids). Just go to a store that sells the parts and start looking through the codexes. Pick whatever you feel looks cool. And if you happen to choose Space Marines, I have about $400 of Crimson Fists for sale at around $100
