Egghead.com Goes Under

Wow, I never thought of this one closing...
E-tail pioneer Egghead.com is filing for bankruptcy protection and is selling its assets to retail chain Fry's Electronics, Egghead announced Wednesday.
Egghead spokeswoman Joanne Hartzell said the company plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy later on Wednesday, and that it laid off about 180 employees as part of the move.
Egghead reported that sell rates dropped too drastically for them to cut costs. I can't really think of any large online computer stores, other than Buy.com. Get more here.
