I get "only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed" when I try to open any program. I've started in safe mode and get the same thing. Help.

that doesnt sound good. see if you can find a cpu testing program that doesnt require windows to run. if your harddrive diagnostic program from the manufacturer will run from a command prompt, do so. also run a ram test, such as the one at www.memtest.org
if its a windows problem, and not hardware, id suggest a repair installation.
