Need Juno Help with Netsky Virus

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: genebette

Here's my problem, when logging onto Juno and attempting to fetch my mail, I receive a pop up window saying that "Alert, Found Virus". Virus is w32.netsky.P@mm!enc. Norton says this virus is affecting program located here: progfiles/juno/user0000/get/jw27gtgh.mb

I run the virus check using Norton and there's nothing found. Sometimes I can check my email and sometimes I can't. Anybody know what could be the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Gene

If you have the latest definitions and you run a scan and nothings found then you probably dont have it. norton will recognize files in its own quarantine as viruses during a scan and if it cant delete a file for some reason it will keep reporting it but do nothing. Try running a different scan like http://www.pandasoftware.com/active...n_principal.htm or http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ . have you tried deleting that file manually?

On the same note, you can clear out your Norton's quarantine via the control panel... if the case is that the file is indeed under quarantine.
