My friend has an old Dell computer it has a 433 Celeron and 128mb of RAM, it was running on Win98 and kept screwing up for missing a Windows file, I figured that doing an upgrade to XP would solve this. I tried to boot from the CD but for some reason it wasn't registering, so I instead put his hdd in my computer and upgraded it to XP. After I put the hdd back in his computer it freezes on loading, but before it even gets to the windows startup screen. If I try to start in safe mode it runs the list of files its loading and freezes on the agp.sys file. Someone please help me figure this out, its boggling my mind.

well, the xp is configured for your motherboard, not his, which is the main problem. not loading is quite normal in this instance. youll have to boot from the cd and either partition, format, and reinstall, or run a repair installation.
xp has a minimum requirement of 128 ram. hes gonna be in excruciating agony trying to run xp on that thing.

I figured it out before you responded, thanks. I was just having trouble getting it to boot from the cd. I don't think he really cares about the speed, hes just using it for word documents.
