desktop folders won't open

my folders on my desktop won't open, all i get are two "illegal operation" windows and my background messes up...donno whats wrong with it...please help

Wow, I am having the same problem i am running Win 98SE. Try doing a scandisk surface scan. It didn't help me so I have to reformat. That dosen't mean it won't work for you. If you haven't done a full virus, spyware, and adware scan do these also. I hope this helps you out good luck my friend.
