Hey all, I was just out playing football on our football feild this evening with some friends when my wallet was stolen. If you are a college student you know all about those stupid lanyards they make you ware to get in to all the buildings. This doubles as my wallet of course so I have some kinda sensitive information in there like my credit card, atm card, blockbuster card, student ID, drivers liscense, ect. ect. ect. I took it out and left it in the endzone with my sandals because it is difficult to run around with a huge wallet and set of keys in my pocket. I stay pretty close to it and since there was only a couple other people with us so I never thought twice about it plus it is kinda an understood thing as everyone just keeps their IDs in little piles around the edge of the stadium. Well I discovered after several hours that my ID was no longer with my sandals, another friend noticed hers was missing as well. This was alarming, I went back to my room and canceled my credit/atm cards, and filed a theft report with the cincinnati police. anything else I should do?

you mean other than starting to replace all that crap in the morning? no, thats about it, unless your keys are also gone. make sure your social security number is NOT on your new drivers license or student ID.
putting your student id on the ground unattended for several hours is one thing, wallet is something else.....

yeah luckily its not. I know its not smart to leave my wallet unattended, all it is, is a little lanyard type thing that everyone else has with my other stuff stashed in there. It still perplexes me how they did it, I was right there on the field the whole time, there was only five of us and a few other athletes talking in the stands. I have learned to be much more careful, but I just don't understand why someone would do it, they got absolutely nothing from it other than a bunch of keys and a few peices of plastic that will get them arrested if they try to use them.

if the keys are gone, youll need to get your locks changed. and a replacement set for your car. you did file a report with the campus cops, in case someone tries to use your id, right?

well, the only cars that those keys work for are 400 miles away and have no keyless entry stuff, they won't find them, the other keys are for my dorm and you must show your ID as well to get in there. Even if the culprit got into the dorm he would have no idea which room the key was for, plus I will only be here for 4 more days and either my roommate or I will always be here. Thanx for the suggestions Red.

Tough luck old bean! I tend to start to panic if my wallet/keys are more than one foot away.
