Canon or Nikon?

Canon EOS-300D, Canon EOS-10D, Nikon D100 or Nikon D70
I'm about to buy a D-SLR and am stuck. I THINK I've made up my mind on the D80, but thought maybe someone here might have some light they could shine on a newbie's brains that could help aid my decision.
I just thought I ought to ask so I don't accidentally pass up any good resources that may be hanging around here.

Yeah. From what I understand, Fuji's are basically Nikons. Well, at least the lenses and the body, if not the internals in the body. Then they cost another five hundred on top of a Nikon, and the Nikon is already really out of my price range. I had originally intended to just get the Digital EOS Rebel once it was down to about $700, but then looking at the Nikon I thought maybe I should consider spending a bit more. Then to do another half a grand on top of that for, essentially, another Nikon just doesn't seem right.
Nice cameras, though.
