Spybot and Registry questions

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Well here's the thing; i run Spybot and i find a bunch of crap from gator.com (which is now claire.com ), Getnet and some oter junk. Most of them are labelled "tracking cookie." Also they are in the registry. Can i go to the registry and delete these things from there, should i let Spybot try and fix the "problems?" or should i do both?

why would you want to go into the registry to remove something when a program is volunteering to do it for you? but sure, if you want to find that cookie, and remove it, then head over to your registry and kill it there too, go for it. youll have to do each one seperately, of course.

Well what i am asking is, is it safe? Spybot has removed the nonsense from my PC and maybe i dont even need to go onto the Reg anymore.

Thanks Red

These days GAIN will be installed with some shareware that willl displays ads to u untill you register .. The program will probably ask you to reinstall it ... If no programs asks u that then its ok .. You dont need to worry .. Its safe to remove that nonsense from ur pc ..
