Mailmerge in Word & Report in Access

Simple questions - Pls help.
1. I have a Word doc to pull some data from some fields in a table of an Access database. The numeric field was fine (had the normal standard format as decimal places:2 ) until recently: decimal places: 10 or something. I checked the field format from the database table and it looks right but the query that pull the data from that table has the field with decimal places: "auto"... even when I changed them to 2 -> still screwy on Word...
Is there a way to fix that either on Word or Access?
2. A Report in Access has a legal size preview as setup but when u first open, it 's letter size and u close it and open the 2nd time, it's legal.
Is there a way to fix it so i dont have to open it twice to get the right view?
