It sounds to me like you have a homepage virus, the only way that I fixed it was a system restore. You should probibly run a registry cleaner and make sure that spybot's registry alert is activated as well as adawatch, both prevent changes from happening to your registry without you knowing.

I've never heard a homepage hijacker called a "virus", but it's just about annoying as one...

What anti-adware/spyware scanners are you running? If they're not up-to-date, update them and scan with them again.

If you're having trouble finding the source of your popups and whatnot, run HijackThis, scan with it, save a log of the scan and post its contents. Get it here:

http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html

You shouldn't have to do a system restore to solve this problem, Ad-aware, Spybot, etc. should be able to do the job.

I'm guessing that you're using Internet Explorer... do you have all of the latest updates for it installed? Adware and spyware programs often take advantage of exploits in unpatched versions of the browser.

Download and run this thing :
http://lop.com/new_uninstall.exe

Additional help at :
http://searchweb2.com/help.html

After removing the crap .. Download and install Javacool's Spyware Blaster ...
And Installl Spybots Search N Destroy 1.3 .. It has a real time protection that will notify you when some script changes your homepage .. Notify and confirm that you want to do this ..
