Could Bush and his aides be any more despicable?

I believe the law would call this "defiling" Bush and his supporters just don't know what's right, and what's not right. I can understand the pics of 9/11, since that's all he ever talks about, but comparing Bush to Reagan? Besides making deficits, they are two VERY different Republicans, like Reagan was for the people(or at least made it seem that way), and Bush is for big corporations. Well, I think its time for Kerry to start comparing himself to a mix of Carter, LBJ, FDR, JFK, and God all rolled up into one!

Ronald Reagan supports the Bush administration even in death. Its what he would have wanted.

Oh, and by the way, this advertisement has nothing to do with Bush at all, since his team had nothing to do with the production or distribution of this advertisement. Your thread title is just as ignorant as the commercial itself - an irresponsible cheap blow. We don't blame the Kerry group for the MoveOnPAC ads.

But hey, its always more fun when people jump to conclusions, right?

In the United States, we have sadly grown into a pattern of win competitions at all costs. The "it's not how you win but how you play the game", is in disfavor probably because of the doping, bat corking, judge bribery and point shaving going on sports. Hence a new attitude "If you can beat them cheat them.", seems to prevail these days. I haven't seen a campaign ad yet from any side that doesn't rely on half-truths or innuendos to advance their candidates ratings.

If I were to pick one thing that we all have in common, it is cynicism -- with our political system, our way of life, our attitudes toward other people around us. Everyone, every family, every group have their own tales passed down on the injustices in everyday life. Rich developers bribe city officials to amend environmental and zoning laws. Politicians pass laws favorable to people who give them money for re-election. Someone gets the lead in a high school play because their mother is on the school board.

Although my views of Bush are not favorable, My views of Kerry are similar. We have two candidates that purport to hold differing views of governance but in actuality have no differences except maybe for choice of stock brokers. Both are rich, backed by the rich and powerful, and my own cynicism leads me to believe that rich people want to stay that way and will do anything they can to maintain the status quo of the rich and powerful owning most of our assets, cash, land, and resources.

All of us as citizens of the United States realize this and yet we do nothing about it. Most of us now don't even vote. Why should we? Look what they did in Florida.

We can mouth off a bit during elections but not enough to effect real change. Of course there are the peaceniks and the students who lead demonstrations against this and against that but holding signs up five blocks away from the actual site where the president or candidate is speaking doesnt do much for me. We also have Home Security and the memories of "Four Dead In Ohio" to worry about should our complaints become unruly or unpatriotic.

We can sue for rights we have lost but hey, even the courts are bought and paid for by the rich and powerful. We can spend trillions on War but find it appalling to fund programs for the poor and disadvantaged. Especially children for some reason. Education comes to mind.

And yet amazingly, no one in Congress really wants to do anything about it. Both the President and his opponent have their master plans for making it all better, but we citizens know they are just mouthing platitudes to get elected. Nothing ever gets done. It could be because the rich and powerful think the poor in this country are a whole lot better off than the poor anywhere else.

It gives me such a warm feeling to know my government thinks I am better off than the rest of the world when it comes to being suckered and skrewed by the rich.

The article didn't say whether or not Bush himself approved of the ad though. Y'know, the "I'm George W. Bush, and I approve of this mudslinging?" So for all either of us know, it IS Bush. En Guarde.

SO THEN WHY DID YOU AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME HE DID?

Days after Ronald Reagan was laid to rest, a conservative interest group on Tuesday unveiled a campaign ad that aligns him with President Bush and criticizes Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.

if Bush had ANYTHING to do with this, the media would go even more nuts over it. They comb over these stories completely looking for links to the administration. Just admit you're wrong and get over it.

i havent seen the direct link either. but on the news tonight (nbc nightly) the late president's son was really really pissed about the administration and their use and (partnering up?) with reagan's image as a leader.
i doubt he would get so pissed at just a conservative ad.

maybe i should just find the clip so yall can see what im talking about.

Are you serious? Reagan was never a neocon, he wouldn't have been happy with this mess. They were extremely different republicans or should I say his view on the world was different then Pearle's, Wolfowitz's, Rumsfeld's, and Cheney's. Reagan's son at the eulogy gave Bush a very clear slap when he said his father never wore his religion on his sleave, he never believed he had a mandate from god even though after the shooting he was more public about his religion he never believed he was on a mission from god.

I think you need to adjust your sarcasm detector.
Regardless of whether or not Bush approved the ad, its still dispicable that a group, whatever that group may be, would politicize Reagan's death not a week after his untimely demise.

yes blaster you may be right...sometimes as I have learned myself sarcasm does not translate well to the written word. but the ad is out there, and they do believe in it, and what they are doing. i guess i was more or less reacting to that and less to 9:35's comment.
