Hi folks,
I'm going to be installing NSW 2003 Professional in a week or so, been using NSW 2001 Standard, but they wouldn't sell me a sub to virus defs this year.
Am I going to feel a big performance hit when I install 2003? I only run the antivirus auto-protect in the background currently and that's how I intend to continue with 2003.
Thanks for any advice (concerning necessary background processes etc.)

I use NSW2004 it is a very powerfull tool and utility.
Any firewall????
Make sure that your platform is working well before the installation, clean it especially the Win Registry from any bugs missing links and that you choose well what operations you need to run, otherwise the system will slow down.
Also make sure that you have all the reguired files to run the NSW2003 and when any problems visit the symantec website for furhter info and follow their instruction.
Lots of user just install programs and utilities in a messy system and then complain that the program doesn't work.
Hope installation goes smoothly.

>>Any firewall????<<
kerio v2.1.5
i think everything is running good. my os is heavily tweaked up and i have eliminated many windows processes that i felt were unnecessary; msagent has been totally removed as well as stimon.exe and wmiexe.exe; also system restore disabled.
nsw2001 runs fine.
i hope the installation goes smoothly also; i plan to use jv16pt to cleanup after uninstalling nsw2001 and rebooting. i have the last fully functional free version of jv16pt.
i am typing one handed; massaging my wife's lyme diseased head w/other.
