Removing MS office etc.. w/o disc?

Win 98se pent3 500

I recently had to restore via MS-DOS mode.

The first few reboots were all well and good as I reconfigured my desktop apearances and msconfig start up settings.

Now for some reason I am always prompted to install MS Home publishing. I have never had the disc as I bought this machine used. What I really do not understand that I did not have this issue at the date I restored from. That and as I stated the first boots after my restore were free from this prompt.

All I ever use is Word and I cannot remove any MS office etc... programs without the disc. Is there anyway to disable this install prompt on boot up?

I do not care if I can't remove the programs... I am just seriously annoyed at this constant prompt.

well, if youre not interested in that program, try to locate an uninstall string for it. assuming that fails, delete all the files you can find for it, then run a registry cleaner to locate and delete the registry entries.

Deleted and regcleaned worked like a charm... thanx!
