Strange Problem...very strange..

Okay, try this one on for size folks..

I've noticed this problem twice, both times when defragging.

Whenever I go to defrag, it works fine. That isn't the problem. The issue is whenever I finish the defrag, or even stop it, all my of diablo II save files appear on the desktop. They are shortcuts, and they aren't the real files, but I think it is really strange that they just appear on the desktop afterwards.

Does anyone know what would cause this?

defrag is in simple terms straightening up your hard drive, which in turn might and usually does speed it up a little bit. when you use programs on your comp., the files on the hard drive get fragmented and it makes the hard drive have to look around for all the fragments, which make it take a longer time to load. defragging rearranges those files back into a nice neat order so the hard drive doesn't take as long to find all the fragments.

I had a defrag nightmare on my hands a few weeks ago, my files were moving all over the place, ussialy to their default install locations. I got a trial version of a 3rd party defrag program that was part of a much bigger system optimizor software bundle. I don't have it anymore otherwise I'd give you the name but just look for a 3rd party defrag and gice that whirl. I reformatted a couple weeks ago so my prob is fixed now.

Hm..I'll look into it.

It's not a big deal, it's just strange that something like that would happen. There isn't a reason to.
