Norton Speed Disk Undo?

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody had any ideas as how to fix my problem. I ran Norton System Works speed disk to optimize my disks. After doing so, 2 of my partitions are no longer able to be read. The name has changed as well in the my computer window. I've asked around and i'm told that the problem is with my partition tables in these partitions. I'm sure the data is still there, just not able to be used/ accessed. Any ideas as to how I can reverse this or fix it?
thanks for any help!

I would use partition magic 7 or 8 to investigate the 'missing' partitions.
Did you run WinDoctor too?
Norton System Work is very tricky if the platform is not clean and well maintained. It will fix problems (registry errors/missing links... etc), checks your hard driver surface much better than scan disk and keeps you informed software problems when it is running on good platform, but it doesn't performe any miracle cure in hardware or software failure.
1) It is possible that some software caused your problem
2) You have virus/worm
3) You have different FATs on them, i.e you changed the FAT to NT ot vice versa
4) If you had Linux then Windows will not see the partitions
You could try system restore to previous good date.
Again here it comes... If any of your friends have Knoppix Linux and your system is CD Rom bootable with Intel based motherboard (Chipset) then you could investigate the partitions via Knoppix and save, burn data to CD ... etc. (Yes I should change my name to Knoppix)
Hope this gave some thoughts.

Thanks for the info. I tried windoctor, it just brought up some links that no longer work due to inaccesability to the partitions. I did a restore point to a few days before the problem. That didn't work either. Have since undone that restore. Norton disk doctor won't run on these partitions either. It says that there is an unrecognizable file system. It bypasses the checks. In the my computer window, these 2 partitions have lost their labels and the error message says that the parameter is incorrect and non accessable. I'm told that the problem lies in the fat tables for these 2 partitions. Is there any way that I can repair those tables without formating the drive and losing the data on the 2 partitions? xp home is my os.
Thanks!
