Logitech Rules

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

A while ago my Logitech MX700 kept double clicking on a single click, its about 18 months old and gets a ton of use. And that double clicking made it pretty much impossible to click and drag anything, push toggle buttons, etc. So I called Logitech support and told them what was wrong. After about 10 mins, the guy gave me a case # and an RMA # and said a new mouse was on the way. It took a while go get here, over 10 days and using my old mouse sucked, but it finnaly came today. A brand new one in retail sealed box. I thought they would send me a refurb. And also, there was no return shipping label or any other paper telling me I needed to send them the old mouse. This new one has a couple of improvements to the laser as well(so Ive read) and it came with higher capacity batteries.

I guess that 5 year warranty is full coverage.

Im excited then! I just ordered a Logitech Optical Mouse from Newegg about 4 days ago. Now i know that i am going to get a solid, reliable product. A friend of mine has been using a Logitech Op mouse for 2 and a half years with no problems.

i plan on getting the new logitech mouse reviewed at toms hardware yesterday. i have logitech speakers and a logitech mouse and a logitech keyboard. they rock, (actually the logitech vibrating mouse i bought for my kid sister rocks. )

I have a really nice pair of logitech speakers..

It was a surround-sound package, something like 77 watts (not a ton) but it was only 53 bucks, and they sound GREAT. I personally use a microsoft optical mouse speical edition, but that is only because me brother was going to throw it out.

Well thats a plus then. Now you don't have to replace them every couple days.

Using lithium or rechargeable batteries has significant advantages over other batteries.

I been using the Logitech MX1000 for a week now. Best mouse ever. Even better than the MX700 and works perfect on just about any surface.

I think im gonna get a MX1000 for my new system and leave this MX700 on this old system. Must have laser to WTFPWN.

How long will the MX1000 go without a recharge?
Also how heavy is it? I like lite mice such as the Wheel Mouse Optical I have now.

Posted by: Ion Silverbolt

It weighs pretty close to what the MX700 weighs. It feels lighter to me though mainly because it fits my hand a lot better than the MX700. My only beef with it is the forward and back buttons are positioned a bit awkward and you have to click them harder. The mouse wheel click also takes some force to get it to click.

As far as gaming goes, my aiming has never been better in FPS's and my hand no longer cramps like it did with the MX700. If the buttons clicked effortlessly, I'd have given this mouse a 10 out of 10.

As far as battery charge goes, it lasts longer than the MX700 does and charges faster. But if you run out of charge, you can't slap another set of charged batteries in it like you can with the MX700.

Anyway, with the "Laser" (Dr. Evil voice), it works on just about any surface. I even got it to work on glass.

I have a Logitech cordless desktop, and could never part with it, keys are slim, not chunky, and the whole thing works a treat. As for the mouse, never go back to a ball mouse again........

Thanks Bolt.
Coincidentally after my post I got a newsletter from Tom's Hardware with this review:

http://www.tomshardware.com/consume...0924/index.html

which basically says it will go for at least three weeks without a recharge and weighs 175 grams, which is about 6 ounces or .4 pounds. Almost half a pound, ouch! Talk about wrist strain.

I love my logitech MX300, wired is the way to go

And my new logitech speakers are at my house now, I just need to get them shipped up to me so I can test them out :-D

3 weeks, maybe if your using it 1 or 2 hours a day. With how much I play games and browse daily, my 2x2000 mAh NiMH batteries last 2 days on a full charge if Im lucky, thats why I recharge them everynight.

I would say the LithiumIon battery lasts probably 3 or 4 days with the same use. Especially since it has a digital LCD readout thats always on.

You might want to check one that's out on display at Best Buy and see how it fits in your hand. Even though it's heavier, it seems a lot easier on my wrist and hand just because of how well it fits.

Just want to add my own logitech story:

Bought an MX700 from someone a while back and the ac adaptor was always troublesome (had to twist it around to get it to charge...). Well, after a good amount of twisting, I finally broke the connector. Called up Logitech and they said they'd ship me out a brand new ac adaptor free of charge.

2 weeks later- got a complete, brand new MX700 package- mouse, charger, and ac adaptor.

I dont know if this was a fluke or somethin, but whatever the case- I'm more than pleased.

great mouse- great customer service.

See what I mean, their crazy. I think maybe they produce all the components on a 1:1 basis, so they just send out a brand new pack whenever someone has a problem.

I think this new will start to give me problems in another 6 months
