how can i put the game in windowed mode?

Posted by: Outlaw

To run the game in a window, go to the shortcut's properties and add "-window" to the commandline. It should look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\War3.exe" -window
Of course the directory could be different, just leave that as it is, only add the "-window" part.
Note that this may not work on Reign of Chaos, you might need Frozen Throne (the expansion) for it to work.

xtms, do you still have a problem or are you thanking NegotiatorSmith? I couldn't really understand your post.

Upgrade your RAM to increase performance.

how

Well you could buy some more of course

Depending on your computer, (I'm using XP.) This is my recommedation.

2x512mb of DDR pc3200 RAM.

Also, a handy tool is Free RAM Optimizer. It frees RAM up used by other programs to increase system performance.

Unless I missed something, he didn't even say how much or what kind of ram he has. How can you recommend upgrading his ram when you don't know that?

xtms, does this only happen online or does it lag in single player too?

You missed something.

You have to read his other thread...

Since he's using 98, he'll need to obtain an older RAM. (pc2100 maybe.)

His windows version doesn't matter much. As long as the ram fits on his motherboard, it'll work. Looking at the speed of his cpu, I'm guessing his pc probably uses sdram.

I didn't say it would work on Starcraft. This thread is about Warcraft 3.

The lagare there only on the battle.net bur there are some lag on single

Your system specs are kinda low to be playing a game like this, especially since you're running Windows XP too, your pc just can't handle it. Multiplayer generally requires a faster pc than single player, that's why the lag is more of a problem on multiplayer. The way I see it, you just need a faster pc if you want to play it properly.

Yep, XP requires at least 128mb of RAM. To run W3 with some performance you should have at least 256mb of RAM.
