NO Sound

I have recently downloaded music and now my sound does not work the computer doesn't seem to know whats wrong just that its application is not working

i had the same problem...every time i opened the vol control..everything was grey.....i went to device manager>harware choose the hadware and did the custom installation instead the recomended 1......on the second screen i chose that i wanted to look for it myself...when u hit next it will show the device....it worked 4 me

Are you sure your system have the necessary Codecs to play the file you are trying to play ..? What is its extension ...?
