Dear God ( as you will be if you solve this problem),

The error on the blue screen says as follows: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

SYMTDI.SYS

0X0000000DI
bad ram? vdieo card? Virus? Sound? Drivers? All parts are very new (3months) All drivers and windows updates are current and up to date.

System is as follows,

Pent4 2.8ghz hyper 800fsb with compatible board (combo at bestbuy)
512ddr ram
ati radeon 9200 (256mb)
Creative Audigy 2 sound
WD HD 60gig

If I excluded any important info please let me know. I hope someone out there can help me, I've been literaly pulling my hair out, and at my age thats not last long.

Semper Fi, DR

you most likely have an irq conflict. check the list and make sure you dont have any major devices sharing an irq.

What is an IRQ and how do I see if there is a conflict? I thought I was pretty computer literate but I guess not.

Thanks for replying,

~DR

start> programs>accessories>system tools>system information> hardware resources> IRQs

I have a different OS, so it might be slightly different, but you should be able to figure it out.

Symtdi.sys is Norton Internet Security Filter File ..
You should better reinstall your Norton Internet Security Suite .. Or whatever Norton package you are running ..
