Floppy freezes WINDOWS ME on startup

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello,
My problem is after Startup, when the logon window appears in WINDOWS ME, and I say ok..the computer makes some crackilng noise and try to read something from the floppy drive..like if it was searching for something there. If I do not put any diskette there, the computer freezes and I can not do alt+CTL+DEL.
But if I put a diskette before responding to the logon.. I ambale to click on any icon on startup..to fetch any programs..
Is that norma..??
Thanks

Reset the BIOS to boot by Hardrive.

No Sir ..Its not normal .. For a guess it can be your antivirus trying to search the floppy for any potential virus ... But it doesnt take that much time to hang your system ..
Probably posting what apps you run on startup will help in telling the culprit ..
Post your HijackThis logfile to tell which apps you dont need to run on startup everytime :
